What the guests say:

"I have never stayed at a B&B that was so accommodating to their guests. Everything was on my schedule, including my oh so early breakfast so I could get to work on time, well fed, and without feeling rushed. Having a key to both my room and the house, let me come and go as I pleased. I felt like I had been given a key to the city. Thanks for setting everything up so perfectly for the business traveller." (Michael, Halifax)

“When I travel on business I stay at 4 star hotels. When I travel on vacation I stay at 5 star hotels. King Bethune House is better than most of them. Your service is excellent, the beds are first rate, and the food is fabulous. We also really enjoyed the time we spent in your private garden, especially the surprise of having an outdoor campfire to sit by in the evenings.” (S. Andrews, Ottawa)

“A great place to stay in the Kawartha Lakes!” Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

“What a sensuous and evocative environment to delight in the joy of being with the love of my life. Thank you for pampering us, setting the scene, feeding us and making us happy here.” (Charlie, Montreal)

“When I die if I go to a place half as nice as this, I will be a happy man.” (Davin M)

“I could kick myself for all the times I stayed at the (a local hotel). King Bethune House is a jewel in the sand of business travel. I'm torn between keeping it a secret for my own, or telling all my friends and risking having to book years in advance. Thank you, Marlis, for your wonderful hospitality.” (Anton W.)
